It is about pixel density..
It is not possible to compare 36 MP in a FX format with Medium Format.
It is like comparing 8 MP camera dell phone with a 8 MP DSRL sensor... a very very different thing..

However there is a 60p extra charge for medium format (they take longer to scan, edit etc) so thats about a £1 per image which is quite reasonable for medium format.

With the reputed performance of the new 50mm APO Summicron ASPH, clearly lens performance has moved up a notch. Could it be possible that a future M could have a medium format sensor, or something larger than a full frame?
