#2 rule, If you can't supervise the remodel, hire someone it done in a kitchen, but my father's wife....
So they'll give you 1 to 4 hours a day which slows down the process .
Contractors and Subs want to be off also.

Sure, unless the whole fireplace was framed before the floors were built, which I seriously doubt, in which case some support... .
Is there some way to keep the chimney in place on the third floor? We live on the 3rd floor and its all finished.. .

You'll both be happier for it.
I know I should be happy for getting my wife and me a new kitchen, but the house is going to be in an uproar for 6-8 weeks. We are not just replacing appliances and cabinets, but doing a total re-designing of the kitchen, family room and sunroom area....
