Sure, unless the whole fireplace was framed before the floors were built, which I seriously doubt, in which case some support... .

Didn't get any decisions made for the project today. If some one doesn't get off the dime pretty soon, this project will have to wait until fall and then it will somehow be my fault. So while I'm waiting, I think I'll have a cold libation!

I know I should be happy for getting my wife and me a new kitchen, but the house is going to be in an uproar for 6-8 weeks.
We are not just replacing appliances and cabinets, but doing a total re-designing of the kitchen, family room and sunroom area....
