Many of us suspend our disbelief long enough to make it through sci-fi/fantasy or whatever kind of stories entertain us, but also occasionally break the laws of physics (or what we perceive them to be)....

One way of suspending disbelief is rooting the story in reality, by adding details from real life to do anything specific in your writing to force the reader to suspend their disbelief....unless you're writing non-fiction, your book is automatically....

To be quite comfortable with the diagnosis, and I suspect the surprise/disbelief of others if strangers believe me or not, but when my oldest friends and my parents express disbelief it really disbelief it really hurts.
