LAX is notorious for slow processing through security, customs etc and you will be less stressed if you have plenty of time for your connection .
This has been a tricky one for us in the past too but we decided to opt for a later flight .

Went to the expo today and got a great deal on Virgin Aust from Syd to Lax - $5126 for 3 adults and 1 child return! We fly out 8/9 and return on 9/10. We had to be flexible with dates, but there are worse things in life than having to spend an extra few...
