What do you see if you try to play the video from the command line? The reason for not playing the dvd should printout to the terminal .
I would guess codec and not DRM.

I don't have many of them, so I don't know if it's all Disney CDs the same problem with a lot of recent Disney DVDs (Toy Story 1, 2 & 3, Cars,...).
