Is it possible to make an appointment with the strata manager and make your own inspection of the books and records of the owner's corporation... has anyone here done this? Is it preferable to purchase a strata report?

I have an 03 M3 and the dealer requires an inspection II to be done for $1500. I honestly don't see the value in this. Can this be skipped? I really don't want to cough up $1500 as a college student for something I won't even see or feel a difference ...

Of the Inspection II work can by DIY jobs, which will give you more satisfaction in doing, as well as giving you'll see many of us not recommending it for young(er) drivers...

I agree with Jeffery on this one.
I understand the visible and unknown issues with decks, 75% or more of decks I've seen are built wrong.
But if we disclaim unknown, not visible, etc, conditions with decks we would also have to disclaim a ton of other...

Something like "will inspect for and document defects that are readily accessible and visible did not have decks were built with "fly by night" handymen or DIY's but those I can easily spot.

I'm not sure we would regard this as a "camera" but as a viewer it might be of use to some of us. (Can't see any mention of recording what one sees.)

Last week it was a gorgeous guards red that had leaky motor halves. This week a gorgeous speed yellow. SY car was in a pretty good accident. It required basically the front clip replacement, hood, radiator, ac condenser, bumper support and you name it...

Guy said they could fix it for parts/labor $120.
He didn't really say what was wrong with it.. I think basically that I needed to replace it. Is this something I can fix myself? Am I getting...

Yeah it's a DIY inspection redone doesn't open until Monday.
A couple bolts and some rubber washers should take about an hour for a an average Joe .

FYI, just grabbed one of these as did the other car people in work. Cheap and seems quite good, would be super handy for many auto diy uses:

Took car to dealer tech inspection for club members.
Problem: One horn not functioning. Tech presumes horn issue and says bumper needs to be removed in order to inspect and correct. Must I remove bumper in order to repair???

If your not a DIY guy or unsure with the front shocks if your on....
You can do a search on here for the procedure and part, and cheaper then OEM and just as good or better, depending on who you ask .
And its an easy DIY remove and replace.
