So 1 dollar is stored as 100 accomplish that with this little bit of Ruby code:
fmt = "%05.2f" % cost cost_dollars, cost_cents = fmt.split '.'
sprintf is your friend....
Instead of storing as a decimal, store as an integral number of cents .

They will take either one with no complaints.

I got 1 BONUS POINT WHICH WOULD OF BEEN ROUGHLY 1100 BONUS POINTS which is roughly $20 dollars.
Under the old club i would of had about 60 dollars in points if i had of spent $1100 dollars type.
