i take the door off the hinges first to set them with a long level or level and straight....
How else do you know if the door will fit right? With of course.
Of course you want the door in it.

Wing could it be twisted? will take photo what do you think? Door rubber sitting ok at the front to fix it, but if this is the original door I would leave the striker pin alone, and use it as another.

was cleaning the golf today i was leathering the car off i went over the bottom of the passengers door and some of the gummy sealant stuff fell off with a load of rust

I have a small storage area, just a control panel for a sprinkler system, main water valves, etc... The opening in the framing is 25 1/2" x 69 1/2"
How can I put a door in this? Should I just by a pre-assembled door and rip it to size, cut down the framing...

It's bolted on from the inside of the door, 2 bolts in the door, 2 bolts on the pillar.
Sometimes, spraying white lithium grease into it will quiet it down .
Very common problem.
It's a "door check strap".
