When I was growing up, yes, in the '80's my parents were very safety conscious--doors were locked had toilet lid locks, stove knob locks, door knob locks, refridgerator alarms, washer and dryer... exterior doors! We haven't used cabinet locks or toilet bowl locks. They never messed with the toilet...
