What is it that Windows is doing when it shuts down?
Assuming I've saved everything, what negative impact does powering down instead of shutting down properly have? We've all done it at some point and personally I don't know anyone whose machine has died...

Heard that the founder was arrested,but now as i looked over to this new ticker thats on the right side of my screen i see this "Megaupload site shut down". Now it appears that other sites like mega are still up,i guess...

I need to shut down my application and then delete the executable. I am doing it by kicking off a low priority batch job and then immediately shutting down the exe. Is there a better way?
