I don't know if it's due to the size of my library, but when trying to download just about all my apps at once....
I can get iTunes to download about 100 or so songs but then I get a spinning beach ball which hangs in iTunes.

They have documentation made available for download again, at which point they will flag the songs as reimbursed the music I had downloaded.
You may only download songs from iTunes once.
