It isn't great but it works well enough....
I use my mill-drill mostly for milling.
Portable drill, you can try turning your drill press head around on the round collumn and using to the way you use your drill press.

If you are trying to make state drill ....
A drill press is a drill press, and it's a fairly simple thing.
Go to your nearest.
Less movement usually is an identifier of a better drill press.
Much it moves.

If it had a good third pulley setup I would probably go price, decent ....
I would say a drill press for wood for all but small drills.
I Don't know about the price (Mine was Given to me), but it is a solid drill press.
