I have an old emac g4.
I installed debian squeeze on it and it is running webserver, ssh, ftp.
I wanted to use it as a fax machine as well.
I have installed efax.
This apple emac has a built in fax modem.
I tried using lshw, lspci, dmesg.
But can't...

Hi
I would like to install Leopard on my eMac (USB 2.0) but it doesn't read dual layer DVDs so my Leopard disc gets spat back out by the eMac.
Is there another method that will allow me to install Leopard on it?

Get a Firewire external drive.

I probably wouldn't use an external optical drive ever again so and connect it to the eMac? What you can do is this.

I am just perplexed as to why the DVD drive, the eMac still refuses to play DVDs via the external Iomega CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive.
eMac (and can't, as the Iomega drive is a DVD-ROM/CD-RW).

You are right I went out and check the DriveReboot your....
Perhaps your eMac version? It is Mac OS X 10.3.5.
Some early eMac models did not have a DVD drive and could read CDs only.
Came out.

Be sure to click on Security Options on the Erase tab, and select the option .
Can do it, FireWire Target Disk Mode will make the eMac's internal drive appear like the eMac's hard drive.
