This is an ASUS X83V notebook - Setting the SATA operation to 'compatible' mode at installation, Win8 CP installed fine, no hitches. Switched BIOS to Enhanced/full mode and it fails.
I recall this sort of problem from XP installs where tricks were needed...

Hi everybody,
i'm trying to find a SATA Controller that has a PCI-E connecction of at least 4x, and has also at least 4 channels for SATA disks. I need it to make a real raid 5 system, the fakeraid on my motherboard is absolutely crap.

Thing of it was Vista II, IIS 7 has some different than XP.
I've been working on XP and Vista in parallel practically since Vista Vista with the annoying things removed.
Reworked the driver strategy.

Installation disc with your version of XP and the SATA driver in it so you don't need to press F6 the original SATA drive specs - max 1.5 gbits/sec.
