Hi all, I recently upgraded to 12.04 by way of a clean install and fired up jockey-gtk to get drivers, and all i got was a nearly blank window showing "No proprietary drivers are in use on this system." I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, ...

As mentioned in the title, I am using a NVidia GeForce FX5500 which worked perfectly with 11.10.
To get drivers, and all i got was a nearly blank window showing "No proprietary drivers are in use.

Well, because of the forum shutdown my post went erased. I posted a post telling I would upgrade my laptop with parts I took from a couple of other laptops, well here I am 2 weeks later with my laptop on steroids ^c ^

You could also(graphic lag, no net lag....
I would recommend the 77.77 driver over the 77.72 version.
A driver I took from this web with optimized INf and all, the FX5500 I took from nvidia oficial site series drivers or newer.

Crap Try, but they are Vista x64 drivers....
Also it'll only work in windows XP and not windows 7 .
The last driver version to officially support the FX series is the 175.19 drivers which do not support the GT220.
You are out of luck..

I am trying to get 3 monitors going, and I bought a 5500FX but I found out the same drivers won't work for it. Stupid me thinking as long as it was nvidia it should work. Anyways, I am going to Fry's tonight, but I don't want to get one that doesn't work...

Did you ever try the Vista 64 drivers for the FX5500 that I linked you with the newer driver but you should still be able to install the FX5500 via device manager using drivers without any ....

Olá amigos do forum, tenho um NeoPc com Celeron D de 2,26GHz, com placa de vídeo GeForce FX5500.
