The question has probably been asked a million times but the search feature on this forum wasn't too helpful.
What are the pros/cons of using 1/2" drywall vs 1/4" drywall?
I have found drywall screws don't dig into 1/4" as well. 1/2" drywall is heavier...

1/4 inch is only used for skinning over existing drywall.
#1= the fire stop value,#2= your standard door/window frames/jambs are made for 1/2" 1/4" drywall consuming to scrape and skim the wall.

I put a mud pie about.
Get a 4-6" knife and slap it on the back .
Gotcha glued it on with drywall compound.
Never have drywall on concrete use small firring strips and then drywall at the least.

After you cut the drywall fairly straight, you can clean up and straighten the edge out with a drywall....
Are you using a drywall square to cut along?
Post a picture.
Best way to have a clean edge is to cut it straight in the first place .

Which kind do you recommend for bathroom applications, plastic or metal? dunno if metal is aluminum or has steel, cause the latter can rust Both will work because it's getting covered and painted .
Thanks.
A reguler dry wall outside corner will work.

Hello all,
I'm currently tearing down drywall in order to better soundproof a wall dividing two apartments, and about half way through a wall I ran into this behind the drywall:

Run the sheets perpendicular to the joists as usual but try to hit the joists with the fasteners and not just the lath thats... .
Most likely 16 on center but not always the case .
Yes you can do that , but take an awl and hammer and try finding the joists .

Gentlemen,
I just drywalled a ceiling, and for the first time used a drywall lift. Always did it with two guys and a couple of t-bars. I will never do a ceiling again without a lift. That was too easy - almost fun! I bow before the man who invented them...
