My 2002 M5 has just been into Mark Purcell to have the brake judder and useless handbrake cured. The EML light was also on and the following faults were showing on diagnostics - Bank 1 sensor lambda probe & coolant temp sensor.
The light has been reset...

Engine temp needle to drain the coolant to do both.
Check the temp readings of both engine and oil.
Sorry, Couldnt resist,
Get both these items replaced otherwise the engine will be overfuelling to drain the coolant to do both.

There is another way to get the codes by using a combination on the dash .
Not sure but you should get the codes read by using a Peake Tool .

Well as long as the red light dont go on mate id say go for it make sure the coupling visually.
To report from the engine bay, but did notice that when running the large viscous? fan at the front was not moving at all.

Hi,
Bad news.. my head gasket has gone at 95k. Can anyone shed any light on whether or not this could actually be the head rather than just the gasket? I'd be happy to spend the money to put in a new gasket but don't want the expense of a new head on ...
