You're doing is hosting a web site, why not go with Server 2008 Web Edition for even less money.

I have yet to see a hack or workaround to do this either and I suspect we won't see one, as there probably isn't a huge demand for this type of thing .
Unfortunately there is no official or supported way to do this besides a format and reinstall .

You'll probably want transactional replication or merge ....
You'll need to use a Workgroup or higher server as the middle server that talks to all the other ones .
You'll want to use SQL Server Replication to do that .

Limited edition was limited to 1924 pieces while special edition was not.
As far as 75th anniversary edition 149 goes, limited edition is far more desirable than special edition.
