I started Tamoxifen in early January and would like to take Effexor to help with the night sweats. I was concerned about weight gain on Tamoxifen and assuming I would have noticed by now, I have not gained any weight on it. I also hear Effexor could cause...

Hey! I have found someone with the same problem! I was on effexor for about a year and I gained more than 20 pounds in that short period of time! I was very small, like size 3 pants...now I am size 9 sometimes 7 if I'm lucky. I was on effexor for anxiety...

Anyone have any experience with these two? I am starting the base dose Effexor (37.5) with my usual Focalin regimen of 10MG 1-2x daily.
It's a little too early I believe to speculate how it's been for me so far, anyone done these two long term?

On these two, only when the focalin is added to the effexor even with just 5mg focalin success with ritalin.

I have in the past, when not on anti-depressants, taken St John's Wort and 5HTP, but these had no effect. I will not take anything else if I am on antidepressants, as I do not want interaction...

So I had my med check yesterday and due to some ongoing agitation, mood swings, ect... the dr upped my Effexor XR from 75mg to 150mg. So I took the higher dose this morning. I am now feeling hotter than normal, sweaty, some confusion and disorientation...

I use Effexor XR and I like it but I find you have to be fairly regimented in the time you take better for you.

I'm posting this on the Hormonal forum because I know many of you have taken Effexor for problems.
This is not assoc. with breast cancer... My daughter - 42- was put on Effexor for problems after having her ovaries removed.. not cancer.. other problems...

I quit taking Effexor XR almost 3 weeks ago.
I had fewer ses with Effexor XR than I did with Effexor (which made naseau a daily companion).
Negative, 35 rads w/3 boosts, Arimidex 5 yrs.

Since I have been in the Effexor - for about 9 months now - my life has changed and for the first but this is my experience.
My doctor put my on Paxil and almost it.
Effexor XR has literally saved my life and my marriage.

I was on 75, went down to 37,5 for 12 days. The first 4-5 days on 37,5 were filled with dizziness, nausea and headache. Then it got gradually better...

I am at the point of what you before, as has someone else who has tapered off effexor.
And Effexor have a shorter half life than Zoloft though, could be that.
