What is 'Playing Electric Guitar' ? Electric guitar started off as just amplified acoustic guitar. When / where did it become an instrument / musical style in its own right?
We say we play electric guitar not AN electric guitar.

It's obvious that these are the most popular compression units for electric guitar or anything else.
Pick your favorite and cast your vote.

If you get good at that, then you should know guitar then I'd say you had a definite advantage when it comes to learning bass (or banjo, mandolin, ukulele, dulcimer etc.), but if you are....
I would definitely recommend taking up guitar first.

Got hooked on lagunas, and now i play a le524 and love the thing Yamaha EG112 Midnight wine red mexican fat strat from guitar center.
Decent for a beginner guitar, came in a pack with a line 6 spider 3 from GC.
