You will have to use a chisel to make a mortise if you have no access to power tools .
The mortises would be preferred.

The adapter itself works just fine, but the place where it's plugged into on the laptop is broken .
The pin/area in my power jack/plug/hole in my laptop is broken, so the power adapter tip doesn't fit in properly anymore .
