Discussions about emotions

Do you find your emotions directly tied to your failure/success at programming? Is it just me, or when something isn't working how you want do you feel like you should just go lay bricks for a living (or walk in front of a bus), and then when something does work you feel like a million bucks (or just really lucky)?
