Nuclear Energy-- A Viable Source Of Energy?
I think that with sources for oil steadily being used up, that it IS necessary to start thinking about other forms for energy. I don't know too much about nuclear energy to begin with, but it is a start for alternative energy. None of us can really predict exactly when we will run out of petroleum, so it would be better to have something available for use when the need arises. Whether or not nuclear energy will be the most practical source for nuclear energy, it is at least an option and a start. Either way, it is cost is bound to be an issue that comes up, and as with any situations, there are of course pros and cons, and it becomes a matter of picking the lesser of two evils. A change in society would be inevitable, and I would imagine that technology could sky rocket with all sorts opportunities readily accesible. I suppose the question would be whether or not society would be ready for such a change. Sooner or later however, the need will arise for an alternative energy source, whether or not the public is ready for it, and it would be better to have something rather than nothing. source
Why is geothermal energy the best form of energy compared to solar energy?
This is only my opinion but, geothermal energy comes from heat that is created inside the earth and is much more reliable than solar. The earth is always creating more heat and so geothermal energy is not reliant on the sun like solar energy is. source
Why do catalyst effectively lower the activation energy of chemical reactions?
Ahhh WHY they work may not be as easy a question to answer, I certainly can't answer it. Though chemical reactions basically work on the premise of the atoms involved filling their outer energy level with electrons, therefore achieving stability. Perhaps the answer is something along these lines. source
Got Energy?
Have you ever noticed that some people have crazy amounts of energy which allows them to get a ton of stuff done? What tips or ticks do you have to create and maintain large amounts of energy through out the work day? source
Why does "dark energy" push things apart?
Dark energy does more than just push things apart, it also contributes to the overall mass-energy density of the universe and this determines the overall geometry of the universe. So we can measure dark energy in at least two different ways. source
