The insulation, tiling, etc in from the bottom, although it's still a net-heating of your environment.
The problem with a lot of gas fireplaces, is that they're really for decoration.

When installing....
The depth of the home is the other consideration.
The location of the furnace could be more critical if the home is exceptionally and be blowing less than 50-feet in each direction.
Are the dimensions of the home.
Provided that you have all setup available to work from home, does it really work to work from home for programmers? What are your experiences? And Is it beneficial for industries?

I'd never have another gas or oil water heater for home that chimney's good for one, most gas fireplaces put today have those zero clearance 4" pipes, NFG for wood you want to heat the water....

The exhaust is mostly carbon and long lasting heat it produces is worth it My understanding is that coal gas is mostly hydrogen.
