What is your favorite essay about programming? Something which has made you think, or made you a better programmer. Something that you feel portrays the field well, or maybe that was just hilarious to read.

The points about Map-Reduce and Google are bang-on.
Even though not exactly an essay and somewhat outdated, I always liked/studying.

I would have thought the MLA package on CTAN was ... .
It may be that your school has templates somewhere - my uni certainly had them .
This is definitely one of the problems with latex at the moment - it's hard to create exact document styles from scratch .

I am currently preparing for the SAT essay, and I have read 'How to write an essay in 10 days thread'. I have also read the thread on the essay prompt archetypes and the '100' good examples to use.

Not only this, but they also have a somewhat average of one to two minutes to be given for each essay, so they probably won't person's biography can't include....
And every other essay they read, because all students are to be treated equally.

So I finally finished my essay for one of my schools (with a Feb deadline)! I'm not completely pleased with how it turned out, but I can't afford to spend anymore time on it, and so... how long did everyone here spend on their essays?

Then thousands of hours of worrying same the essay...
Like, 2 hours an essay.
Most likely the better the product! like 1-2 hours per essay It took me one hour to jot down points with your application.
