Is it ethical to hack real systems owned by someone else? Not for profit, but to test your security knowledge and learn something new. I talk only about hacks, which does not make any damage to system, just proves there are some security holes.

This is a tough question.
Would you consider it unethical or cheating to set the priority of a multiplayer game to realtime via task manager to make it run faster? Is this really any different from buying a gaming computer?

It's not an Ethical matter, it's a work matter, and at the end you must hardly regard it as an ethical or moral issue.
