How common are the slightly more nerdily inclined in exeter university? Is it as established a group of people as in other universities?

Apparently it is proposed to put schemes on all three Exeter weirs with the Trews scheme being done by Exeter City Council and the others by Transition Exeter.

It then has to go to planning application.
Looks as though they're in Exeter today, although I'm not able to go and talk to them about.
