Their choice of exhaust mufflers causing it though.

I need help on figuring out a good exhaust set up for my dads 68 coupe. i was thinking on some long tube headers, a x pipe. and maybe some flomasters. What are good brands? And where is a good place to purchase these items?

Booms exhaust link I have longtubes, x pipe, and hooker aero chambers and I like it.
I have long tubes and had an h-pipe put on when I did my new exhaust.

I am curious about this. I thought that backfiring occurred in vehicles that had some sort of a fuel management/choke issue. IIRC a backfire is usually produced when unburned gasoline gets into the exhaust system (muffler?), igniting in there instead ...
