It depends....
One of our developers telecommutes from the other side of the country.
And what do you earn? No one? I could do most of my work via telecommute but I still find that need to be in the office to work with my team and have meetings.

In college in the early 90s the HR Management Professor told us how
“telecommuting” would be the wave of the future, by 2010 so many
people would be telecommuting, etc. ...

Hordes of it is, most obviously-employed" than a telecommuter....
The average telecommuter needs fuck
company info ends up on whats in the telecommuter's house anyway.
With completely fucked operations that arent implemented properly.

Yeah, I've seen some disasters too. I dunno about the loss of social
skills from being raised in the cities. But that does not preclude some
who are more rational, less idealistic...

After being out of work for almost 13 months, and very little help at home when I'm telecommuting (but that's an ongoing b!tch), DH finally landed a job.
Not just any job, but a job that sounds like it'll be a great fit.
HOWEVER, we are having a difference...

I got a list of accredited home daycares from the state, so they are regulated .
My kids went to a home daycare for many years, and it was amazing .
You definitely need childcare - you have a job! And yes, it can be crazy expensive.

Friday, my boss told me to telecommute Monday due to expected snow. It's clear as a bell up here next to the Canadian border, but snow is expected overnight. I've heard it might be a bit dicy around Snohomish County tomorrow.
So how's the weather down...

I think it's great.
My wife and brother work from home and they feel like they are more under the scope bc they have to prove they aren't screwing off .
I sometimes do and it takes discipline to not get side tracked .

After 3 months on a contract through my employer [a technology staffing agency], and 15,000 miles of travel to the employer's client's site, my car broke [the engine blew]. I called the client 3 days in a row to let them know I had no way to get there...

But my employer said I could telecommute....
Yes, I understand the ruling - especially since there was no mention of the 650 mile weekly commute... .
You can appeal, but I wouldn't be optimistic.
You could not get to the worksite.
I can understand the ruling.
