I have recently seen Fit-PC small form factor Linux machines on sale which have a very low power usage. Would it be feasible to create a cluster of these and just plug and play to expand the cluster?

If you're thinking of building an Atom-based cluster computer, consider some Toradex Robin modules instead, they're cheaper (and even smaller... .
Interesting idea, but this may not be the most cost efficient solution, as the price of the fit-PC is quite steep .

It's about time for me to upgrade my desktop and finally move into the world of true multi-core computing (the Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading I have now just isn't cutting it anymore).
The motherboard I have won't support newer CPUs (although it uses the...

I'm a high school teacher at a small private school. As of this year, we have SMARTBoards in every classroom (though I've had one in the class I share for two years now). The classrooms themselves don't have computers in them, so we teachers bring our...

I also work at a school, and we have locking cabinets in the rooms that contain a small form-factor Dell PC, DVD player/VCR....
The locking.
Control to access to the computer, and to use a very inexpensive form-factor computer.

The storage servers I've seen generally use 2.5" drives instead of 3.5" drives. In my experience the larger drives have better capacity, speed, and durability. Why are the smaller ones favored in servers?
Note this doesn't apply to C: drives.

Velociraptor is using this form factor so something is definitely up ;)
They're probably using SAS drives, which I've never seen in any form-factor other than 2.5"
By increasing the number of spindles.

We are changing our remote log-in security process at my workplace, and we are concerned that the new system does not use multi-factor authentication as the old one did. (We had been using RSA key-fobs, but they are being replaced due to cost.) The new...

A software token is a second factor....
While I am not sure it is a "valid" second factor, many websites have been using this type product, we have a module for it that works as part of our multi-factor system for remote/VPN situations.

Hi, I'm doing some research on Digital advertising and would love to hear your perspective on how important is it to develop an ad campaign that works across form factors (PC, mobile, tablet etc.). Thanks!

Size doesn't really affect the cost of a laptop....
Decent price tag? I doubt it.
What size are you looking for? 11" (netbook)?
I think alienware makes 11" laptops with sandy bridge i7 builds and can assumingly be configured for discreet GPU and 8gb+ RAM .
