I'm developing a relatively small application to talk to PostgreSQL, and wanted to get some feedback on how far is too far to go with regards to protecting against SQL injection.
The application is in Perl and does not use any ORM modules (just DBI). ...

In these cases, I make my own version of placeholders, and I check the values I would insert as the table names to ensure it's a table... .
$dbh->quote_identifier($cfg->{tablename}).
Use quote_identifier :
my $sql = "SELECT * FROM ".

I dislike what I see as a bit of a fad for 'fluent' interfaces that let you write pseudo English code but do it by implementing methods with names that can be baffling... .
Personally I like int.To, I am ambivalent about int.Days, and I dislike TimeSpan.FromNow .

I'm in the suburbs and I'm looking at a couple of places for the birth---my favorite is a 40 minute drive without traffic. There's a closer one, but if for some reason I don't like them at my first visit or they're overbooked, I'm wondering if it's reasonable...

My in-laws in Ohio think anything beyond 15 miles is far.
I was that far here or there is a daily norm.

As far as local work without travel expenses 45 min one way is max for me and that's only if its good work.
We have been all over the states.
Travel expenses, time, meals are covered.
