I'm thinking about having a play with a software-based radio, based on a
heavily hacked-up radio and an IF-to-AF down-converter (basically, tap
the IF, downconvert to AF, then...

The downside
of all this is that Parseval....
The theory.
Thing is to use the forward FFT algorithm for
both the forward transform and the inverse transform-trip y = ifft(fft(x));
returns the same data as the input (to within numerical
precision).

Hello people,
Standard FFT lets us retrieve amplitudes of evenly distributed
frequencies.
What if I need at some frequency range greater/smaller density of
frequency points...
Let's ...

Obvious solution is to calculate FFT on greater piece
resolution in higher frequency range).
Conditions of the FFT it is required that given 1024
sample inputs that you get 1024 Fourier logarithmic
scale for frequency dimension).

I'd like to write a simple program(preferably in C#) to which I sing a pitch using a mic and the program identifies to which musical note that pitch corresponds.
Thank you very much for your prompt responses. I clarify:
I'd like a (preferably .NET) library...

Once you've computed the FFT you identify the fundamental frequency (usually the frequency with the highest amplitude in the FFT to, A or A#?).
Turns a waveform (your sung note) into a frequency distribution .

I'm a .NET programmer, and I'm developing a system that collects real time production data and stores it in an Oracle database. The data will need to undergo extensive processing: essentially digital signal processing stuff--looking for mins and maxes...

If your Oracle database runs on an operating (if not, I'm sure you could put a thin .Net layer on top of MatLab to create a C DLL), then you can call.
In MatLab rather than trying to build FFT logic in PL/SQL.

Does anyone know of a .NET programmable/usable API for reading an image file, and comparing it to an existing set of images?
e.g. I have three pictures of the letters A, B, and C. I then copy the picture of A, and modify it so that it is flipped 180 degrees...

You will probably find lots of libraries for hough transformation or FFT, but I'm.
Are good ways to do this.

Where can I find a free, very quick, and reliable implementation of FFT in C#? Can be used in a product? or are there any restrictions?

I'm wondering what is the recommended audio library to use?
I'm attempting to make a small program that will aid in tuning instruments. (Piano, Guitar, etc.). I've read about ALSA & Marsyas audio libraries.
I'm thinking the idea is to sample data from...

Marsyas would be a great choice for doing this, it's built for exactly this kind:
MarSystemManager mng; // A series to contain everything MarSystem* net = mng.create("Series", "series"); // Process the data from the SoundFileSource....
In FFT filters.

It's through the PFFL. Need 11 ppl and it will be an all FFT league. $19.95 each. Post here if you want in. If I don't get 11 ppl, I'm not doing it.

Wazza it's running about 10-12 degrees cooler than the Noctua. Some of that is probably because I keep trying to reduce the OC voltage. In a half hour small fft I think the max temp was about 73-75.
