Mine are mainly from the 70's/80's. Rosemary's baby and Halloween are the ones I remember really scaring me as a kid, the latter especially with it's haunting music and suspense. American Werewolf in London is another classic, though it had a dark humour...

But there are films that are quite excellent and are far different from your average hollywood film horror movies your talking about some are VERY good.

What is up with people in horror films? Everytime the monster or killer is coming they just stand there gaping in horror as the creature (who is very slow) catches up to them? I would run...if you are going to be slow you deserve to be eaten I say.
