My bike will only start when I spray starter fluid in the air filter, then I have to keep gassing It otherwise it dies. Is the carb jet clogged you ...

Yes sir, the fuel system is restricted somewher, start at the tank filter an work ur way down.

Im new to the forum and have a few questions i just bought a new fuel filter have some general questions...
Is it hard to change the Fuel filter or should i have it done?
Where is it located on the bike?

You will need to remove questions i just bought a new fuel filter have some general questions...
Two hose clamps and its done.
Fuel filter is easy to get to.
It IMO.

With all the spline lubes recently completed and underway, FD issues etc. I thought it would be interesting to find out what everyone expects from a BMW motorcycle lifewise.
The tire/oil/brake pad manufacturers have us all conditioned to replace those...

I have my doubts about got traction control (including trailer sway control), diesel particulate filter, SAT radio, hands-free phone, GPS, IR reflecting glass, ....
I can't see why a motorcycle shouldn't last as long as a well cared for car.

Motor oil, air filter & oil filter: Type and webshop? Recommended motor oil seems to be SAE 20W40SE, can't find this oil in the 4-5 shops I've looked in. Quality marking "SE" is old, I'm not sure what kind of oil to use...

At times I'm astonished at the bashing that motorcycle dealers get from riders. The stereotype given to ALL dealers as "stealers" seems a bit out of place with reality. How about we look at the dealerships with a bit more objectivity.

Where I have a problem is with many of the mechanics who simply do not appear stated, Fuel Injector Cleaner is always a good way to get started with problem solving.
