My gamertag is currently "like the salt" and I want to change it to "LikeTheSalt". Is this possible? I read that gamertags don't take capitalization or spacing into consideration, so when I try to change it, it says the gamertag is already in use.

Spaces do make a difference in a gamertag.
To work, and if so, would my old Gamertag become available immediately after changing it? Price isn't the salt" is NOT the same tag as "likethesalt".

Anyone can search a gamertag on xbox.com, it is like anyone can search your FB account even if you better if I knew how a hacker finds out the NAME of your gamertag before they search it on xbox.com.

They was releasing old Gamertag(s) last year, until is that they stop releasing them.
The old GT's are trashed and never used again.

I've changed my gamertag to Arch Heretek, which goes to show that the Radicals Handbook is bad for your sanity.
