Anyone? They are more decorative than a source of heat and i think hideaously expensive as I am mid-terrace so fireplace is on a party wall.

The bear feet accessory because the heat wasn't going to straight up, and did any grandma/grandpa's have baffles for heat retention in the stove.
It slightly just to allow the smoke out, yet retain as much heat as you can.

Are you talking solid fuel open fire/parkray or other fuel.If there is no other source of heat.
What else can heat the radiators? Do you have a gas unit or electric immersion heater? If so.
