Hi-
I recently became a home owner for the first time and the house has got a fireplace in the fam
suggestions how to get the most heat from it. With oil bills skyrocketing, i'd like to use my fireplace

The furnace I am installing a direct vent fireplace.
The fireplace will provide more than enough heat...

The furnace and DV fireplace are about 2 feet apart through a wall. I would like to move some heat

Ours has 2 with one being ventless gas logs...and one a regular woodburning fireplace
. There is a lot of talk about how inefficient regular fireplaces are.
But....I love a fire!

Air outside. Air flows (circulates) in a room. warm air in the fireplace rises through the chimnety
the venturi tubes on a car's carbeurator pulls air into the engine.
Even when you use it, the fireplace sucks
the fireplace chimney creates a natural draft since heat rises.
it pulls the heat out of your house

We have a Heat and Glow vented gas log fireplace that is about 7 years old. It is used very seldom
difference (Delta P) will allow the air in the chimney and fireplace to enter the home!
Gas tech
? New windows? Exhaust fans? Added forced hot air/ AC unit?
