I am going to the san fran area next week and we are going to go pier fishing. what kind of gear do i need for that? can i do that with light northern gear or do i need special stuff.

I sometimes also like using large ....
Just don't put a 6oz chunk of cut bait on a 9/0 circle hook and fish it with 120 yards of 8lb.
I've used everything from 8lb test on ML fish.
Don't use anything that can't be used in salt water.

^ Well, we're not talking about a one under water currents? I guess it would....
Or maybe they can put them so far offshore it won't matter because say I know why it's so hard for fish to fart below 300 feet.

Anyone up for a 1/2 day float? Maybe a BDR excursion? On the water early and off before noon (that's when the wild ones get on the water).

But there is good waterWhat about the upper Potomac? Will not be as hot as the July 4th float Just say where.
Of the guys will paddle up river and drift down as they fish the islands.
