It helps if you have a TV that can handle PAL... .
You could install the Homebrew Channel and a program called Gecko OS and run it via that.
Wii's have region protection like most other consoles, it won't work in an unmodified Wii.

Xbox is much stronger....
Such a thing going on the wii, I even went so far as to write several of the tools that allow VC on the wii, nobody wanted to fool with injection and emulators on the wii are just like emulators on any option.
