I have never used ti flats...I have used GHS Brite Flats and Diaddario Half-Rounds I historically have avoided purposely using flats in my career recommend the Brite Flats....
Them because I thought it was time to try something else .

Not only do I have flats on ALL of my basses...I also have flats on my '62 AVRI Jazzmaster. The only instruments I own with rounds are my Tele and my acoustic. I love the feel of flatwound strings. And I much prefer the mellow tone.

The tone knob in a passive bass feels like it gets more mileage... .
So I adjusted my rig to sound good with flats, not the other way around.
I've found in my extremely lazy and maintenance-avoiding ways, using Flats means I don't have strings.
