Do microbiologists and the like have lower rates of food poisoning?
If anything, I'd expect microbiologists to have lower rates of food poisoning just because they know better than the general population what to avoid. But this would extend not just to the microbiologists themselves, but also to their families and anyone else who eats out of the microbiologist's kitchen. source
Can you starve to death on negative calorie foods?
The only way to test the efficacy of foods is to test them on yourself. I am sceptical about quack diets and I am also sceptical about the results of those that have been tested scientifically unless I was a part of the testing procedure. The latter change their stance continually in regard to what is and is not bad for you, the egg being an example. Also, quite often vested interests ensure they get the preferred result even if it is bs, not to mention poor scientific method being employed and there being an inability to seperate cause and effect. source
Do you think food is nutritious enough?
I do believe this, that it is really hard to get all the nutrition you need from food, especially if you do not eat organic. Even if you could get most of the nutrition from food, the average american diet has left the body deficient in producing enzymes to digest the foods and absorb the nutrients. So to truly heal the body i personally do think that whole food supplementation is needed. source
Is organic food a fraud?
As a preliminary matter, you have to be careful with the term "organic" since its meaning can vary wildly. Also, if you're going to buy organic, you need to get it from a trustworthy source. Just because something claims to be organic doesn't mean that it is organic or that it is what you consider organic. With those caveats out of the way, I buy organic because I don't want to ingest a bunch of chemicals needlessly. I don't mind paying extra to have meat without hormones or fruit without pesticides. This is not to say that hormones and pesticides are all bad. Both have allowed exponential increases in food production. If the choice is people starving in Africa or Africans eating conventionally grown fruits and vegetables, I think most would agree that the hormoes and pesticides have helped. For me, though, I am fortunate enough not to worry about starvation, so my choice comes down to conventional or organic foods. I choose organic because, having access to both, I prefer to avoid chemicals and their known and unknown effects on humans. source
Dangers of some foods?
I stopped drinking coke and things like that alil over a year ago. After I stopped, I lost some weight and am now much healthier. Now if I take a drink of a coke,I find it to be incredibly disgusting and I cant believe that I actually used to like it. source
