If the cheapest supermarket wine will cost £4.69, 4 pack of beer £3.52 and spirits like vodka £13.13, then how much extra could the normal branded ones eventually increases to?

Part of it is food methanol, denatured alcohol and so on.
I believe it has something to do with supply and demand had to be made of concrete because people were afraid of gas tanks exploding .

Here is one of mine for pairing Scotch with pears. I'll add a couple more in the days ahead for pairing Lambic raspberry beer with salad and Lambic peach beer with a summer peach soup. These are consistent hits with our guests and often are the pairings...

Really, almost all French food can be successfully paired with a Belgian beer.
Spicy Indian food (many kinds) and any crisp beer (preferably a Pils and a Saison or Gueuze.
And Belgian pale or strong ale.
