Try it with an old school high quality chromoly steel or Tange fork off a vintage Bridgestone, Specialized or Diamond Back when they were made by Centurion.
Yup, same principle as a tuning fork.

I now have three tuning fork watches - an Accutron Calibre 218, an Eterna Sonic and an Omega f300. I've seen others by Universal Geneve, Movado, Hamilton and Longines. I'm just wondering if there are other brands out there that I haven't seen yet. I'm...

The Titus tuning fork watches appear to be Omega's.
Citizen had their own version of the 218, also.

Do I have an example of that?
Is it recent and does it fit this 'Big Ass'n Tuning Fork fork I still have by the desk and just whacked on the carpet again while I type this, a few times a full minute if I whacked it harder....
Hadn't.

Hi,
I am interested in this watch on an auction site found here:
http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2a18990c70
I just can't seem to find a day/date model of f300 in this case elsewhere. Is it a case of a complete f300 movement/face etc...

You may be on to something here. If the barrel oscillates vertically, the observed vertical stringing could be caused by the pellet exiting the barrel while it is in different vertical positions and with different vertical velocities. I think I remember...

Early on I had suspected that the barrel(s) were vibrating or oscillating to cause... .
It cut the vertical strings down greatly, but they were still there if you really examined the groups .
At one point I did try a barrel band on one of the configurations .

Indeed.
Use unbuffered CMOS gates* circuit where i can plug
in a tuning fork crystal or a standard (say 2-10Mhz) crystal.
This circuit works.
Those tuning fork watch crystals need very low drive.
