What is the best way to integrate a legacy phpBB forum into a new Joomla site?
Basically I want to keep the navigation links (top and main menu), and embed the forum as pages in the site.
Is this feasible?

To "integrate" your forum to your Joomla installation, you haveI would theme the forum appropriately and put it on a sub-domain like http://forum.mydomain.com for Joomla and phpBB....
Installation and it's working pretty well.

The 1.5.17 to 1.5.23 is an upgrade, not a migration .
Note: Moved from SEO to upgrade forum.
Simples! Mod.
For your upgrade route (1.5.17 to 1.5.23)
Then extract the contents of the package into your Joomla root.

Most of the time I spent learning about joomla templates was spent on studying css.
On the community forums here .

I am new to joomla and have just discovered that it uses myISAM database engine by default.
I already searched the joomla forum and extension directory, and even in google but got no useful result. Since joomla is such a big community, I am not sure why...

However, there aren't any queries in the core Joomla to do so, the core Joomla functionality still would not.
