I propose to set up my Fastmail to forward all mail to Gmail, but since this necessarily includes much of the kind of mail that Gmail has detects as unsolicited leading to it blocking the forwarding server, is there anything I can do to prevent the same...

Try testing from an account which is totally unrelated to the forwarding accounts and the destination and they would forward it back ....

Many developer prefer the GMail interface and thus forward (actually pull) all their email to GMail.
Assuming we trust Google, are there any reasons why this should be disallowed?
