Sigh...some of.
Gel pen, like fountain and rollerball pens, also use water-based ink, except that instead, gel pens are as off on measurements to what they say they say are as fountain pen nibs.

I will admit that so far I have always been a ballpoint (or rollerball) person - growing up in the 80's and 90's they were what was 'standard' and fountain pens were always considered old and finnicky. The last while though I have been intrigued by them...
