What does that mean? In the instructions for a project, it said to "freeze the Rails gems". Is that different from freezing the Rails version? What's freezing about?

Freezing a gem of rails might eventually cause something in your app to break, freezing it will prevent the system the app you freeze rails in ....

Any solute (dissolved solid) lowers the freezing point of water.
Just so we're on the same page.
Would this help raise the freezing point..." you mean lower, not raise.

Edit: If you haven't done so already, please update your graphiccards drivers to the latest .
You could try the drivers from NGO , they have some bugfixes which the original NVidia-Drivers do not have .

Really, you ought to make the bit that runs in the seperate thread testable on it's own .
How is your thread posting information back into the main thread? I've been able to debug multithreaded apps by placing breakpoints in the worker thread before .

If it's the texture size then that would point to a memory fault (for example).
