Last week I was surprised to find out that sybase 12 doesn't support full outer joins. But it occurred to me that a full outer join should be the same as a left outer join unioned with a right outer join of the same sql. Can anybody think of a reason ...

Without the ALL , it will filter duplicates and therefore be equivalent to a full join, but the query.

I've just read through a lot of MSDN documentation and I think I understand the different recovery models and the concept of a backup chain. I still have one question:
Does a full database backup truncate the transaction log (using full recovery mode)...

A full backup does NOT truncate the log, you must perform a backup log operation.

Setting up a MySQL full-text search is definitely....
I don't know Sphinx, but as for Lucene vs a database full-text search, I think that Lucene to have that much data to search, then you might as well go for a database full-text search.
