So...i've gathered the theories and tested them on my car.
the first one was that the seal under the hudge rear glass can cause fumes to enter the car.
second one was that the holes in the lugage compartment, inpropper seal of the tail-lights or the holes...

When full open- no fumes fully you will still get fumes...the air/fumes curent moves a bit away from your nose and you cant feel monkey.
I do only get fumes inside when i lower my window for lets say 10 cm.

I've also seen auxiliary gas-fired heater plumbing allow fumes in (but you don't appear to have one).
Allowing exhaust fumes to get in? I've seen bad rear hatch seals allow fumes in (but you say that your is good).

You are far more likely to poison yourself.
You should at the minimum make sure the wind is blowing crossways to keep fumes away.Wear gloves casting temperatures produce much if any lead fumes.

Are you sure it's gas fumes and not exhaust fumes? You mentioned fumes.
Not sure if your year model has a charcoal canister but check that as well .
