Using: windows xp, g++ 3.4.4 with cygwin and g++ 3.4.5 with mingw.
I'm compiling a simple unit test class with cppunit.
When I link using g++ 3.4.5 I get a lot of linking errors. When I link with g++ 3.4.4 I don't get any errors and the exe links fine...

Correct link line:
g++ -I g:\projects\thirdparty\cppunit-1.12.1\include \ -L g.
If the result on the link line matters.
One thing you could perhaps try is to compile with g++ 3.4.5 and/or 3.4.4 on Linux.

Terminating a MySQL query with \G instead of ; will cause MySQL to return the result set in vertical format, which is sometimes easier to read if the number of returned columns is large.
Example:
mysql> SELECT * FROM help_keyword LIMIT 3\G 1. row help...

But as I pointed out in my comment to Andriyev's post above, it's actually making the \G uppercase that causes the display....
Postgresql is older than MySQL so it might have influenced them .
Postgresql also uses \g as a statement terminator.

I was writing a test case out to tackle a bigger problem in my application. I ended trying some code out on codepad and discovered that some code that compiled on my local machine (g++ 4.4.1, with -Wall) didn't compile on codepad (g++ 4.1.2), even though...

A vector (or any STL container) of references is indeed a bad idea, as obvious when you simply look at requirements for element type T of any STL container (ISO C++03 23.1[lib.container.requirements]) .

Can power function be used to calulate the power of very large values like pow(200,200). also can it be used for long long int values ... pow(long long int,long long int).

Check out GNU MP.
Likely, your platform doesn't have data types large enough to do so natively .
If you're looking to do arbitrary precision math, you'll need to get a library for it .

How would I go about proving this inequality for two functions on a compact set
max(f)+min(g) <= max(f+g)<= max(f) + max(g)

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at sosmath):
Max(f + g)
= max{f(x) + g(x) : x in K}
<= max{f(x) + max(g) : x in K}
= max{f(x) : x in K} + max(g)
= max(f) + max(g)
The other inequality is similar..
Let K be the compact domain.

I have the following mathematical problem and no idea where to find a solution for it. Perhaps one of you can help?
Given a set X and a map f:X-->X
Let G be the set of maps, that commutate with f, that is: G = {g:X-->X | g°f = f°g}
How can I find...

In general, everything in G must map g can be, it....
Case g must also be a bijection and so your G is the centraliser of f in the automorphism group of X is the constant map f(x) = c, then G is all g that fix c.
